Mairéad has worked with Europe’s leading opera companies with directors such as David Alden, Jonathan Miller, Robert Carsen and John Copley, conductors Edward Gardner, Laurent Wagner, Stephen Barlow and Gerhard Markson, and has performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the Orchestra of St Cecilia, the Ulster Chamber Orchestra, the English National Opera Orchestra and the English Northern Philharmonia.
Her operatic repertoire includes Mimì and Musetta La bohème, Fiordiligi Così Fan Tutte, the title role in Tosca, Micaela Carmen, Pamina/First Lady The Magic Flute, Violetta La Traviata, Sylviane The Merry Widow, Paquette Candide, Karolka Jenůfa, Second Niece Peter Grimes, Antonia Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Clorinda La Cenerentola and Mařenka The Bartered Bride.
Mairéad’s concert repertoire includes Gretel Hansel & Gretel, Mimì La bohème, Fiordiligi Così Fan Tutte, Second Niece Britten’s Peter Grimes at the BBC Proms, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Music from Egmont, Ravel’s Scheherazade, Handel’s Messiah, Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, and the title role in William Vincent Wallace’s opera Maritana to celebrate the 275th anniversary of the Royal Dublin Society. She has also sung as a soprano soloist with Ireland’s RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra performing Mahler’s Symphony No 8 and Symphony No 4, as well as RTÉ’s eight-part television series, “Mozart Sessions”.

Mairéad has given many recitals in Ireland including Wexford Festival, Music for Galway, West Cork Music Festival, the Boyle Arts Festival, Bantry Chamber Music Festival, Music in Monkstown and the National Concert Hall in Dublin. Elsewhere she has given recitals at the Aix en Provence Academy Festival, The Metropolitan Club in New York, The House of Lords and Leighton House in London.
Mairéad was a member of the Young Singers Programme with English National Opera, a Young Artist at the Aix en Provence Festival and was a “Young Associated Artist” with Opera Theatre Company in Ireland. Mairéad is actively part of the Vocal Faculty as Assistant Lecturer of Voice at the Technological University Dublin (formerly Dublin Institute of Technology, DIT).
Born in Limerick, Mairéad studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and graduated in 2003 with a First-class honours degree in Performance. Following this, she studied at the National Opera Studio in London. Mairéad was awarded as a special prize winner in the Belvedere International Singing Competition in Vienna and won the Gervase Elwes Cup at Dublin’s Feis Ceoil festival, as well as being prized with the Belfast Classical Music Bursary and the Royal Dublin Society Bursary.
